Dean Gardina is COL’s Chief Academic Officer. With the faculty, she plans the academic curriculum and organizes course schedules. She is available to assist with academic and career counseling, questions about policies and procedures, and concerns about individual or course-related issues. She has offices at both campuses (SB main hall and VCL second floor) and encourages students to drop in when her door is open. Assistant Dean Doyle oversees Registrar’s Office functions for students at both campuses, including registration. She visits the Santa Barbara campus periodically to meet with students. She notifies students of grades and counsels students about course credit, academic standing, satisfactory academic progress, probation, disability accommodations, graduation requirements, appeals to the Academic Standards and Admissions Committee, and transcripts. She also serves as COL’s Title IX Coordinator.

Ms. Mackie assists students at the Front Desk in Ventura and will route your phone/email inquiries to the person who can best assist you. She can answer general questions about COL, school policies, exams, and courses, and matters such as class attendance and schedules, campus events, and ExamSoft (exam-taking software). Jennifer is COL’s liaison with WESTLAW.

Ms. Jurgensen manages the libraries at both campuses and assists students in using library materials. She holds periodic workshops to help students learn effective strategies for using both print and online resources, such as WESTLAW and OnLaw. A practicing attorney and COL-V alum, she works part-time (4-6:30 pm) and splits her time between campuses; her work and workshop schedules will be posted.

Ms. Moloney assists students in understanding funding sources available to finance legal education expenses. She advises students with the FAFSA process and also information about free financial resources through our partner, saltmoney.org/collegesoflaw. She splits her time between the two campuses.

Working with Dr. Nehmer, Ms. Burdick supports the day-to-day operations of COL, including facilities, campus safety, HR functions, board affairs, and budget management. Andrea Funk is the Director of Hybrid of Online Learning.  With Dean Gardina, she is responsible for oversight of the Hybrid J.D. and M.L.S. programs. She is available to provide academic and career counseling, questions about policies and procedures, and concerns about the course-related issues.
